Under the Radar: Jaden Walcot, A, Holy Trinity (Ont.)/Edge '17

Over the last few months, 3d Rising writers and evaluators have seen hundreds of hours worth of lacrosse spanning late summer into the winter, attending recruiting tournaments and showcases nationwide.

Along the way, we've collected a list of who we view as some of the best uncommitted players, primarily in the 2015 and 2016 classes, with a few 2017s as well.

The Under the Radar series will feature commentary from club and high school coaches on some of their best players still looking for a future college destination. We'll include highlight videos too.

Next up is Jaden Walcot, a left-handed Canadian attackman who plays with a hard-nosed style and displays the natural scoring ability you've seen in the likes of a Jeff Zywicki or a Stephen Keogh. He can score in tight, he can sling it from the wing, he can power through body and stick checks and he can get his teammates involved by drawing attention and moving the ball.

Walcot has been racking up points on the recruiting scene with the Edge Ontario 2017 squad, but he also plays box lacrosse in the Oakville Midget system and plays for the program's field team, too. He was a member of the gold medal-winning Team Ontario U16 field team in 2014, shining alongside some of Canada's best up-and-coming players.

Here's what Edge 2017 coach Adam Lukanchoff had to say about Walcot, one of the promising uncommitted 2017s in Canada:

"Jaden is a strong, tough and talented Canadian attackman. He possess a hard, accurate overhand and underhand shot with a quick release. Jaden is excellent in tight around the cage, effectively using his dodges, footwork, stick skills and strength to roll and bounce off defenders to create space and scoring opportunities. He is a quality finisher anywhere around the cage and a threat anytime the ball is in his stick. Jaden has good vision and can feed crisp, accurate passes to cutters and shooters on offense. Off ball, he remains active in setting picks, cutting to open space and finding space behind the defense for scoring opportunities. He also excels in the classroom with an academic average of 85 percent."

Walcot even has his own website with more information on his accomplishments: www.walcot.ca. View his 2014 summer highlights below.
